Where the hours actually go.

Manual reconciliation every month
50 accounts. Same patterns. 6 hours per accountant per week. Claude reads every line, flags only what needs your judgment.
AR aging that nobody chases
Invoices sit at 60 and 90 days. Owner promises to follow up Friday. Friday is tax extension day. Cash flow suffers from a calendar problem.
Tax season eats four months
80-hour weeks. The same questions answered 30 times. Document chasing across five email threads per client. Tax season can be calmer.

Same system I install for every firm.

30 Days to AI-Native method. Your team uses it. I keep adding new automations as needs grow.

The 7 workflows accountants automate first.

In order of ROI. Every accounting firm I've worked with has this same priority list, even when they thought their business was unique.

01
Tax Season Prep
Client intake checklists, missing-doc reminders, organiser pre-fill. Four months of preparation done in four weeks of evenings, not weekends.
02
Journal Entries QA
Claude reviews entries against your COA rules. Flags only the unusual. Staff stop chasing perfect copy-paste and start reviewing judgment calls.
03
Client Onboarding
Engagement letter, kick-off questionnaire, portal setup, first month checklist. New client live in 2 hours instead of 2 days.
04
AP / AR Coding
Vendor names, GL accounts, recurring patterns. Claude pre-codes bills and invoices. Bookkeeper reviews the 5% that need attention.
05
Audit Prep
PBC lists, tie-outs, supporting schedule generation. Materials ready for the audit team before they walk in. Reviews go faster, your firm looks sharp.
06
Advisory Writing
First-draft client memos, tax planning summaries, year-end advisory notes. Partner edits a draft instead of starting from blank page on Sunday.
07
Year-End Checklist
Per-client closeout list generated from prior year + open items. No one has to remember which form goes where for which entity type.

What changes in 30 days.

WEEK 1
Audit + Setup
We map your top 3 workflows together. I configure Claude with your chart of accounts, your client list, your standard tone. Nothing touches client books without your sign-off.
WEEKS 2-3
Implementation
Your staff run live reconciliations and AR runs. We refine prompts, fix what doesn't fit, add workflows 4 through 7. By end of week 3 the team uses Claude without thinking about it.
WEEK 4
Team Handoff
90-minute training per role. Written runbook. Your IT or office manager gets admin keys. After Friday I'm gone and your firm owns the system.

Questions partners ask first.

Will Claude leak my client books?
No. Anthropic's enterprise terms state that customer data is not used to train models. Your prompts and uploads live in your session. We use Claude for Work or zero-retention API where required. I configure the setup so client financial data never crosses a boundary you didn't approve.
What about tax preparer confidentiality (IRC §7216)?
Section 7216 covers disclosure and use of tax return information. Claude under enterprise terms is a tool you use under your supervision, the same way you'd use practice management software. The taxpayer's information stays inside your firm. I document the data flow as part of the setup so your compliance lead has the paper trail.
Can it integrate with QuickBooks / Xero / NetSuite?
Yes. Claude connects through API or workflow tools (Zapier, Make) to most accounting systems. I've shipped setups using QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, FreshBooks, and Bill.com. If your stack is on this list or close, integration is straightforward.
Does it comply with AICPA standards?
Yes, when used as a working paper tool with proper review. AICPA's guidance on AI (and SSARS, SSAE, GAAS) requires due care, supervision, and quality control. My setup builds those in: every AI output flows through a reviewer, the firm has a documented AI use policy by week 2, and we keep an audit trail of which outputs were used in which engagements.
Does it replace staff accountants?
No. It removes the work staff hates (data entry, format conversion, first-pass coding) so they can do more substantive work. Every firm I've worked with kept their team and moved them to advisory and client-facing work. The bottleneck was never headcount. It was hours per engagement.
How is this priced?
The audit is free. After the audit you'll have a 1-page Workflow Map and a clear scope. If we move forward, you pay once for implementation and own the system, with ongoing support as your firm grows. No monthly platform fee from me. You cover Claude's subscription cost directly to Anthropic. Specific pricing comes after the audit so I can match the scope to your firm size and engagement mix.
